Kuat Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2024 Cadillac XT5- Video
Hey, everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer. And today, we have the Kuat Piston SR Single Bike Rack, and we're gonna take a look at how it fits our 2024 Cadillac XT5. So the Piston SR is going to be a roof-mounted rack that also has a hitch adapter, and that's the kit that we are using with this vehicle. So because of that, we have some extra features you won't see on just the normal Kuat Piston Pro, but also, you have a humongous weight capacity of 100 pounds. So if you have an extra heavy electric bike or maybe you have an alternate frame or just a strangely shaped bicycle, this is more likely than not gonna be a very good fit for you. Hollywood Racks Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2024 Cadillac XT5- Video
Hi everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer and today we have the Hollywood Racks Destination four bike platform rack. We're gonna take a look at how it fits our 2024 Cadillac XT5. Now the Destination four is what you would consider an entry level affordable bike rack but I actually think it is still a great fit for the XT5 just because of its features, how compact, how lightweight it is, and it actually does a good job with carrying around four bikes of different shapes and sizes. So even though it's an affordable rack it's still definitely worth looking at. I would get it if I had kids bikes, medium-sized bikes, and even mountain bikes. What this cannot carry, though, are electric bikes. more

Hey, everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer. And today we'll be taking a look at the Swagman CHINOOK Two-Bike Platform Rack, and how it fits on a 2023 Cadillac XT4. So the CHINOOK is a good bike rack, usually if you have an inch and a quarter shank because you got a really good weight capacity. And on this case, we have a two-inch hitch receiver with the XT4 so we don't need that versatility, but this is still a good bike rack for the XT4 because even with it folded up, you're able to open up the hatch. Now the Sherpa's a platform-style bike rack holding the bike in these trays, and primarily by our front tire up here, using this wheel hook. That's gonna mean zero frame contact making it good for carbon frame and alternative frame bikes. With a 40 pound weight capacity, we do wanna stay within that limit, maybe not the best for e-bikes, but you can always check out the RockyMounts MonoRail, it's gonna hold the bike pretty much the exact same way and give you away 60 pound weight capacity, and it's going to be very similar price-wise as well. Now with this bike rack, we do have the ability to tilt it away. more

It's going to be a platform-style bike rack that holds the bike by the tires primarily, we've got other points of contact here, but these are the things keeping it upright and stable. That's gonna mean zero frame contact, making it good for carbon frame bikes, alternative frame bikes, and with a 60 pound weight capacity per bike, 120 pounds total, it is gonna be good for e-bikes too. Some things I like about it are the integrated cable locks right down here at the bottom so it can wrap right straight up around the frame and back down to the bike rack itself. And then the fact that it can tilt away with bikes loaded here, just pull this handle at the back, lean it down like that. more

What does MHS mean It's a modular hitch system, so we can kinda piece this thing together however we want it. Right now we have it in the four-bike configuration, so if you do go with the four-bike, we're gonna get four different cradles. So the Kuat NV is your heavy duty premium bike rack, which you would get for, if you have really nice bikes you wanna protect. If you have heavy electric bikes that need an extra weight capacity, or if you just have a strange framed bike, like a step-through bike, women's bike, children's bike, and you don't wanna get a frame adapter bar. So let's take a look at first, how it works here on our Cadillac XT4. This bike rack tilts away and to do so, you pull on this lever and then, you just drop this down to a tilt, just like that. And you'll want to tilt it away if you wanna access your hatch. more

As you can see, we do have a dual arm support hanging-style bike rack with us today. So if you're looking a way of getting those carbon frame bikes to your destination, unfortunately, this won't be the option for you as we do have multiple frame contacts. So any frame contact will deteriorate that carbon frame bike. Combined with this dual arm support system though, we are getting a lot of, we mentioned there's three points of contact, that's gonna reduce our sway to our right and our left, as well as reducing our sway as our bikes are in together, and that's actually a great aspect of this bike that, bike rack, that we'll get into later. more

Hey guys, today we have a 2019 Cadillac XT5 and we're going to test fit the Kuat NV 2.0, 2-Bike Platform Rack. Now this mounts to your 2"x2" receiver on your Cadillac. It's going to let you haul up to two bikes to and from the trails, or wherever else you want to take them. Now the bike itself is held in on two different points of contact. We have a ratchet strap on the back wheel, securing it onto the platform, then up front we're going to have this wheel hook securing the top of the wheel, forcing it down into the wheel tray down here. And those two points of contact, you can see are very solid, your bike's not going to go anywhere.Now let's go ahead and take the bike off, but before we do that I want to show you guys the tilt-away feature. more

Hey guys. Today we have a 2019 XT5. We're gonna do a test fit of a Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE2 bike platform rack.This two bike platform rack mounts to your two inch by two inch hitch receive bar on your Cadillac and it allows you to haul up to two bikes to and from the trails, or wherever else you want to take them.Now a really cool feature about this bike rack is that, while we have it in a bike configuration, if we wanted to we could add on a two bike extension or even a Hollywood Racks add on cargo carrier. Just by removing this cap right here, which is also a reflector. You would insert the cargo carrier, or the two bike addition, to convert it to a four bike rack or a two bike rack with a cargo carrier.You can pick up all three of those, the two additions and this bike rack, as a kit here at eTrailer if you wish.You just get this end cap back on.We can also tow this away from the vehicle to gain access to the trunk of our Cadillac. How we're gonna do that is, there's a pin clip we have to remove first. more

Now this four bike platform rack mounts to your 2" by 2" receiver that you have on your Cadillac. It allows you to carry up to four bikes to and from the trails or wherever else you want to take them. Now, one of the coolest features in my opinion about this rack is that while we have it in its four bike configuration right now, we can remove this two bike addition. All we have to do is remove this pin and clip right here. more

Inno Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2018 Cadillac XT5- Video
Speaker 1: Today in our 2018 Cadillac XT5, we're gonna be doing a test fit on the Inno Aero Light 4 bike rack, for inch and a quarter and two inch hitches. That part number is INH640 three. Now we have a bike installed. Let's take a closer look at some of the features. Now if we start from the outside, we're going to see that coming from the base we have an integrated cable lock that comes around the frame of our bikes, and it inserts into that little column right there. When you want to unlock the cable, all you got do is push up on that tab and you have the insert for your key, and you can unlock the cable and unload your bikes.If we look at the cradles, we're going to see that they can move back and forth like so. more

Of course at the ends of both of our arms we're going to have the patented Yakima bottle openers. Moving backwards, we're going to have our cradles here. Now the cradles are going to be stationary but they have this super cushioned material that's going to help absorb the shock while you're driving for your bikes. more

Kuat Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2018 Cadillac XT5- Video
Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 Cadillac XT5, we're going to be test fitting the Kuat Transfer two bike platform rack for 1 1/4 and 2 inch hitches. This is part number TS02G.We already have the bike installed on the rack. Let's go and take a closer look here, and this does have a pretty unique design to it. It enables you to tilt the bike rack away with both bikes installed by simply going to this kick plate here in the center as opposed to ones that pin up at the front, which can be a little difficult to get to, especially when you have two bikes attached to it.So, holding onto the bike rack itself, we'll push down on that pedal and tilt it away, and with that, we do now have that full hatch access that we need without having to remove the bikes, and there's enough space on either side to walk up and get what you need. We'll push it back into position by the bike rack, never the bike, until you hear a click.How it's held into place, we're going to have a rear wheel cradle here with a strap and this is adjustable back and forth by loosening the bolt on the inside, and then we'll also have this front wheel cradle here as well as our front wheel hook. Now, being a wheel hook design, that's a nice feature because, unlike the platform styles that grip it by the frame, this one can carry a wider variety of bikes without having to purchase any after-market bike adapter bars although, in some cases with kids' bikes, you may need an adapter to go around the wheel hook itself as it doesn't ratchet down far enough and that is sold separately and you can find that on etrailer.com.Right now, we have a road bike installed on it. more

We already have a bike installed on the rack, let's take a closer look here.Like most platform racks, this can tilt away from the vehicle with both bikes still attached to gain rear-hatch access. A little difference is how you actually tilt it away. We have this easy-to-use lever up at the front here that you pull towards you while holding onto the bike rack to tilt it away, which is nice because a lot of the other style bike racks out there will have pins to pull or something that you have to reach through both bikes, and it can be a little awkward to get to while you're trying to lower it away. But with this, it fits right up front. Pull that towards us, while holding onto the bike rack, and let it come down.Now it doesn't look like it tilts away much, but it's plenty of space for our Cadillac here, as there's more than enough space in between the bike and the handle bars and the hatch itself. more

What sets this apart from some of the others is that it has the handle on the end here to release it to be able to tilt it forward. Most bike racks of this style will have the handle up at the front and you may need an extra set of hands to release the handle while you lower the bike away. But with this you simply hold onto the bike rack, pull that handle towards you, and let it come down. more
